Joe Ingles has been incredible for the Utah Jazz hitting threes at an incredible percentage and playing solid defense against opposing small forwards.

The Utah Jazz defense has been incredible to start the year. Against the Oklahoma City Thunder they held Russell Westbrook to six points in the victory. The Jazz defense swarmed the Thunder and they were visibly frustrated getting three technical fouls in the game. The Jazz will earn the NBA a lot of technical money this season.

Derrick Favors has been guarding the perimeter very nicely and did a good job on Carmelo Anthony tonight. It can’t be stated enough how nice it is to have a healthy Derrick Favors.

Rudy Gobert returned to his dominant self putting in 16 points and 13 rebounds.

Epic Epke Udoh did it again, playing incredible defense behind Rudy Gobert and ending the game a plus/minus of +11. The Jazz are going to win a lot of games this year because of their second unit defense.

The Utah Jazz limped into Oklahoma City to play the Thunder and were blown out from beginning to end.

Russell Westbrook set the tone early with big shots giving the Thunder an 11-2 run to start the game and the Thunder never looked back.

Defensively, the Thunder were strong keeping the Jazz from getting close to anything that looked like consistent, good offense.

For the Jazz to recover, they’ll need to get healthy soon.

The New Year can’t come fast enough for the Utah Jazz who lost another tough December game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Thunder defense, behind the all-star level play of Paul George, stifled the Jazz holding their three point shooters at bay. Westbrook had another triple-double leading the Thunder in the 4th quarter to the victory.
The bright spot of the game, and the season for the Utah Jazz, was Donovan Mitchell who continues his quest to get the rookie of the year award. Tonight he scored 29 points on 12/16 shooting and kept the Jazz relatively close.
It’s also been incredibly fun seeing Donovan Mitchell get so much love and encouragement from fellow superstars in the league. As the final whistle blew, Russell Westbrook, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony made a point to talk to the star rookie.
The future could not be brighter for Donovan Mitchell.

When Ricky Rubio went down in the first half, it didn’t look like the Utah Jazz would be able to close out the Oklahoma City Thunder, but this Utah Jazz team has shown resilience at every point of the season and they showed it again tonight. Joe Ingles hit big shots in the second quarter that helped tie the game going into halftime.
In the third quarter, Donovan Mitchell put on a show. He went toe to toe with reigning MVP, Russell Westbrook, and willed the Jazz to a double digit lead. The things that Mitchell is doing as a rookie are unprecedented. Mitchell carrying the team in the third quarter was reminiscent of things we’ve only seen from players like Michael Jordan. It’s going to be a long and fun ride for Jazz fans as Donovan Mitchell continues to grow both in these playoffs and for years to come. What a player!
The Jazz also got big contributions from other players like Derrick Favors who had big blocks, rebounds and a MASSIVE jumper late in the fourth. Royce O’neale started the third quarter and played next level defense. Alec Burks hit huge shots including a big corner three late in the game. Jae Crowder brought fantastic intensity on the defensive end and effectively took Paul George out of the game.
The strength of this Jazz team really is the team and that’s why no one should ever count them out.
