Not that stupid an assertion, its just that people aren't woke enough to think basketball IQ and stop thinking about big time superstars like a PG or Chris Paul. Yes they Have donovan and Rudy gobert (who i don't think people take seriously enough), but its the players like the Joe ingles (goat) and royce o'neals and derrick favors who glue this team together and play beyond what people perceive them to be capable of.

The jazz play well together and they defend but the 2 seed that’s crazy they really don’t have great talent compared to a lot of teams. They beat the thunder because russel Westbrook takes bad shots, turns the ball over, and doesn’t play disciplined on defense or offense. Rubio Mitchell ingles favors gobert with exum, oneale and Grayson Allen off the bench.
But all those guys do know their roles and accept them, they move the ball and bodies which helps them be unpredictable compared to teams that have the same guy dribble it up and everyone watch him pick and roll.
Problem is gobert struggles sometimes against elite teams small ball lineups he can’t guard on the perimeter and on offense he is basically just a dunker and offensive rebounder so he is no threat to shoot. I personally wouldn’t wanna pay that kind of center max money idk if you can go far in playoffs like that.
Imagine if other more talented teams played with their level of discipline and unselfishness and cared about defense as much.
Warriors thunder rockets pelicans spurs blazers nuggets lakers. Utah wouldn’t make it if those teams all do.
Clippers have a solid team too, Utah has backcourt of Rubio, Mitchell, exum vs clippers having gilgeous Alexander, Robinson, Lou Williams, Avery Bradley, Patrick Beverly, it’s not like Utah is obviously better there and clippers have Tobias Harris and galinari and I bet boban could give gobert some trouble for parts of the game.
It’s fun to imagine each team matching up with eachother based on roster and style of play and then watching those games when they come up during the season.
You can look at every team and do that and see Utah doesn’t have a lot of top tier talent which is why they probably didn’t get respect from other teams last year but they won’t be able to surprise as many teams this year.

Although the Rockets have some new players, they lost Anderson, Ariza, and Moute. That's a lot of size, and 2 of those guys can hit the 3. Not sure how they let those guys go.

It’s crazy how 90% of sports talk shows don’t know crap about Basketball.
UTAH, Denver, NOP can easily be top 4. What’s shocking about that ?
Lakers have the ability to beat any team comes playoffs time due to Lebron factor. But it’s crazy to think Lakers will be a top 2. They might end up being the top 2 best team in the West but it doesn’t necessarily mean they will be top 2 seeds because they will lose lot of games before the chemistry gel. That’s just part of the process.

I love this show but is shocking how little Dan and stugotz know about the nfl and NBA despite working in sports media. I guess I give them credit for being one of the few people that admit they know nothing, but it's still amazing that this is what they do for a living and have no idea that the Jazz are good. People like Mina kimes, Amin, Lowe, etc know much more about the nfl and NBA than Dan does.

Amin has a good pick, but Utah didn't get any better over the summer and that's already a problem losing these recent games. A great defense deteriotes really quick if you don't have an offense to rely on.

With all of the buildup I thought he was going to say something stupid like Dallas. I actually think Utah will be 2 or 3. They were the 4 seed last year without Gobert for a lot of the regular season, and they got better after the Rodney Hood trade.
